INITIAL CASE HISTORY
This is intended to reveal whether our vision problem, if you have one, is the result of an eye problem or of your general health. Diabetes, high blood pressure, circulation problems, and allergies are just a few of the general diseases that affect the eyes and vision. We also want to know your specific occupational and recreational vision requirements so that we can determine the lens formula that is best for your individual needs.
EYE HEALTH EXAMINATION & DISEASE TREATMENT
The doctor will thoroughly inspect the external and internal parts of your eyes for signs of eye or body diseases. With special instruments, a study will be made of the interior of the eyes for cataracts, retinal problems, and other diseases. We treat many types of anterior segment eye diseases. If referral for specialized disease treatment or surgery is necessary, we will refer you to the appropriate medical specialist
GLAUCOMA EVALUATION
Glaucoma is a condition in which the pressure inside the eye increases, resulting in damage to the sensitive nerve tissue (the retina) and a corresponding loss of vision. Glaucoma generally does not have symptoms until its later stages so early detection can be achieved only through regular professional examinations. We do an eye pressure test and other tests on patients to detect glaucoma even in its earliest sages, when it can be treated effectively.
VISION TESTING
Patients sometimes express concern that they might give incorrect responses to questions asked by the doctor during their eye examination. You need not have that concern in our office. We have instruments that help determine the proper prescription without your responses. We also verify your responses in several ways to make certain that the lenses prescribed provide the clearest and most comfortable focus for all your needs.
